RT-MB-004 is used to determine the flow time of liquid bitumen, fluxed bituminous binders and bitumen emulsions through a 2mm, 4mm or 10mm hole at a given temperature.

The apparatus consists of two test stations placed in an insulated water tank with internal circulation, a heating and cooling coil for connection to a water source or an external water bath. RT-MB-004 provides accurate test temperature from 5 °C to 80 °C. Accuracy is achieved thanks to a high-precision temperature sensor and a PID controller that provides a resolution of ± 0.1 °C. The viscometer is equipped with a safe water level sensor and LED lighting for the test area. Made entirely of stainless steel.
